SERVICE centres and automotive dealers at yesterday’s event gave the Longton Avia the thumbs-up.

Dozens of representatives from firms all over the UK attended to find out more about the new truck.

Robert Tear, who owns service dealer Tears of Sutton Bridge, in Lincolnshire, said: “I’m very impressed with it. From a customer point of view, I think it’s a very good product.

“I think it will sell in the UK market, especially as many of the components are made here. That is important – there are a number of people looking to buy UK sourced products.

“It would be great if they could get it to be completely assembled in the UK like they’re aiming to.”
